QUESTION MEME TIME

royallyshaftedThe way this game goes is you ask me a question about basically anything (usually RP, but hopes and dreams and favorite icecream flavors or preferred canons are fine too!) and then I ask you a question and then we go back and forth like that until we stop! It's usually pretty fun.

But the way Pride put it implies that he could be a danger to team and that is not down at all. It comes HILARIOUSLY at the same time Tide is thinking about things like leadership, because of what Misato said, Pride round-about acknowledging it, annnnd his own memory of Head inviting him to be their leader. So even though he doesn't really waaant to be leader exactly he's kind of thinking in himself in that capacity and AS LEADER has to make sure Pride does not crazyout and hurt anyone he shouldn't and it's like man this is balls!
He is aware that Pride is fucking with him to some extent, but he really doesn't know enough about him to tell how much of that is lulz and how much of it is crazy. And he isn't just, trusting enough, to go "I believe in you!" and assume Pride will never flip and murder them all.
So basically he is concerned, mostly because of possible eventual fallout. If he did NOT have to worry about Pride possibly murdering the wrong people, he wouldn't care, cuz it's not the crazy that bothers him it's the potential betrayal.

Tide is absolutely content to let people put on whatever mask they like and wear it as thoroughly as they like, much like he don't mind Pride getting fwippy gesture and smiling a lot even if it's unlikely he is suddenly ACTUALLY HAPPY, he doesn't care if Souya pretends he is mentally 14. He will not necessary treat the illusion as the reality all of the time! He is deeeefiniely not above pointing out that it's just a mask. But he will almost never do in a way that is like "you are a total faker and never show anyone your true self!" cuz he doesn't really care if you show anyone your true self and lying about your more core personality just seems natural. He thinks everyone should be allowed to be who they want to be, even if it's a lie.
Now if we are talking about SOUYA RETARDEDLY HAS BARELY BEEN EATING AND TIDE HAD TO CALL HIM ON IT AND SHOVE IT DOWN HIS THROAT THAT HE IS A MORON AND A HYPOCRITE IF HE KEEPS THIS UP.
Heeee was, at the time, genuinely upset. Tide doesn't have Sugata's emotional distance from basically everyone but Wako and Takuo, because Sugata found out everything sucked when he was eleven and sort of turned off in a lot of ways. Tide is oddly more optimistic, and subsequently more invested in the people around him. Furthermore, Tide really is not even a little bothered by the blood drinking thing, though he realizes he might be if he had to actually get it from other people regularly! But he himself doesn't care and so doesn't see why Souya cares because Tide has a kind of mental block that people might like him or not want to see him hurt.
But, he does care about Souya and like Souya and so Souya's bravado disappearing and finding out he has toooottally failed to take care of himself is annoying and upsetting! And DUMB because Souya is all OH I CAN TAKE STABBINGS FOR YOU IN A BAD GAME and as much as Tide really doesn't LIKE the idea of anyone defending him that way, he felt that Souya was determined enough that Tide probably couldn't stop him, so at the very least he would use him effectively. Now it's all lol I am not in top shape and I have a hard time holding it together when I am looking at an open wound so FUCK SOUYA AND HIS SELF SACRIFICES Tide doesn't want him if he can't take care of himself. BLAH.
So basically his feelings on that stupid are just, irritation caused out of concern cause out of Sugata's instinctual hyperproctiveness that he hasn't fully realized yet. He is generally UNIMPRESSED with the whole thing, but has also forgiven him since Souya said he would start drinking blood, and since Tide said what he had to say on the matter and now it is up to Souya be an adult.

Date: 2011-02-17 11:50 pm (UTC)On the not so good, there's the knowledge that he'd KNOWN where Kaito was and had covered for him, and even though he wasn't expecting the consequences to get quite that bad, there's the nagging feeling that he could have prevented it somehow. He's going to be kind of uneasy because he doesn't know what happened after that, he can sort of figure out that the beating ended when the memory cuts out because he's relatively sure the King won't let his kid die, but he's more concerned about Taiki and Touma.
Once the impact wears off, Souya will stop and reconsider his attitude towards Personae and weight rebellion vs good behavior. So far he hasn't broken any rules (other than giving away that one lighter) and if he feels the overwhelming need to talk about his feelings, he'll probably talk to Guy about it.
HOW DO YOU THINK THE NEXT HORRIBLE MURDER GAME WILL GO FOR YOUR CHARACTERS?

Date: 2011-02-18 12:01 am (UTC)I think that while Tide has probably thought the most about potential badness from murder games, he will still be the most traumatised by it. Oooonly not really, as much as ~changed~. Star Driver is a VERY HARMLESS CANON where no one is seriously injured and everything Sugata is upset about has to do with douche destinies but not with any real suffering. It's very legit stuff for a regular teenage boy to be upset about, but it isn't a pimple on the backside of mooooost people's backgrounds in Aather, and he just doesn't have that even subconscious level of 'this has happened before'.
HOWEVER. Tide is also not really the sort to be broken by things. Most likely upon seeing HIS PEOPLE in danger and/or hurt he will realize they are very important to him, and be more dere in the long run. He will also be more homicidal for them. YOU KNOW HOW, AFTER THE LAST ONE, CORAL WAS ALL REALLY NICE? Okay well if after Souya set up that THIS IS HOW WE DISTRIBUTE DAMAGE EVENLY, if Amethyst IS hurt badly, Sugata would prooooobably Pillar any offenders who came over to Amethyst acting sad and guilty 8D;
He will very much just probably be a lot more prone to protective homicide.
AS FOR LUKE. Uuh. Luke is less likely to be upset by injury now that he remembers fighting monsters and doing things like being shot with lightning or slammed into by stuff as big as he is. Tho not having a healer is kind of balls and he still doesn't LIKE it.
Luke is the type who is going to be upset by aaaannyone getting seriously hurt. And he will probably be majorly depressed after all danger games. FORTUNATELY, canon hands me how Luke deals with this, and he really just needs to remember that A) he is a killer by choice, or B) someone needs to lay down for him that it is us or them, in which case he will choose Us every time.

Date: 2011-02-18 12:20 am (UTC)BUT OKAY. He really likes Sugata and he acknowledges this in some level, he just really doesn't like liking him because he doesn't know how to deal with it. Souya can't related to Sugata the same way he relates to other people, he gets along by bullying and teasing and generally being insufferable, Sugata is IMMUNE TO THIS BEHAVIOR, so he feels really disarmed with him. I CAN'T DRAPE ON HIM AND POKE HIM UNTIL HE PUNCHES ME, IT DOESN'T WORK, so he copes by being grumpy, he doesn't do it consciously, it just happens and he is kind of annoyed at himself for it because he knows Sugata does absolutely nothing to merit it.
Objectively he knows Sugata is a great kid! He wants to help, he'll make a good team leader, but then he is so zen and he COULD TELL HE REALLY WANTED TO LICK HIS WRIST and it makes him feel vulnerable and it sucks. ANNOYING KID. So he is very tsundere. He is also a sucker so he'll probably keep poking him until he stops being tsun or Sugata reacts.
I WAS GONNA SAY SOMETHING ELSE. Something about pecking order and how Souya is ALSO ANNOYED by the awareness that he's not terribly upset by the idea of following Sugata's orders, and then he gets upset by not being upset, and really it all boils down to Sugata topping him and Souya not liking it.

Date: 2011-02-18 12:35 am (UTC)SO BASICALLY that is why Sugata doesn't think of them as friends! Even tho he quite likes Souya, he figures it isn't mutual. He isn't especially bothered by this, that's just how it is. He is aware he has Souya's respect and probably even trust on some level and that is satisfactory for him.
I TOLD AJ SUGATA'S THOUGHTS ON SOUYA'S CHARADES which just sort of boils down to 'okay, do whatever makes you happy'. But at this point he also realizes trying to get reactions out of him is kind of a game, which Sugata is winning and intends to keep winning.
Souya is probaby Sugata's most important off team person, despite the obvs distance. He does like and respect him and would be willing to rely on him if the situation called for it. In a WAY the whole bloodgiving debacle was kind of a test to see if Souya would follow orders 8D; Whiiiiiich he will! Sugata won't particularly abuse this but he does like to know where he stands with people in that respect, particularly when he is considering using someone off team. On team is a little more personal and so knowing 'will he do what i tell him to' is less important.

Date: 2011-02-18 12:55 am (UTC)SPECIFICALLY he's close to Sparky, Fetch and Faith, who he considers "his" in the sense that they're his to look after and poke and bully, they're ~friends~ and he loves them. He's also pretty okay with Thunder, but he puts him in the grown-up category and Souya is better at dealing with people he perceives as young. AND LASTLY there's Falcon, who gets his own category because he's Lucifer and Souya feels instinctively subservient to him, and he kind of likes him and trusts him just because, which is something Souya would mind more but instinct hasn't failed him yet, so he's cool with it.
Anyway, he trusts the knights he's close to implicitly and knows they will do their best to protect the rest of Aather. He knows this won't hold true for EVERY KNIGHT EVER, but he kind of hopes the new knights will adopt the old ones' attitude and that there won't be conflict at least until more rules are handed out.

Date: 2011-02-18 01:16 am (UTC)It's currently relatively low, it could happen but Muraki is a very self-controlled, self-aware kind of crazy and although his latest memory is VERY CRAZY he didn't get back everything he did to Hisoka. So he knows he likes it when Hisoka screams and knows he would probably like screaming regardless of the source, and he knows he enjoys making people bleed, but as of right now he doesn't feel a particular impulse to hurt people and without a reason he's generally too apathetic to try, plus he's aware enough of normalcy standards and people's reactions to know hurting a non-teammate would bring consequences.
THAT SAID, he is a very crazy person and if he gets the chance to try out torture he will take it, but I think he's going to start out by torturing incests, like good sociopaths do.

Tide - Is aware of sex as a. thing. that people do. And I assume he probably HAS hormones, he is just so muted and controlled that acting on them is not going to really occur to him ever. UNTIL CANON TELLS ME OTHERWISE I am playing Sugata as like 90% asexual. But he's not repulsed by sex he just doesn't really care. Like you know. I COULD drink but I don't really have to, tea is fine, whatever? Tide is aware he is pretty and has sexual appeal and when Souya was like I WAS SAVING A KISS FOR YOU he would've been fine with that but he's equally fine without it 8D;
HOWEVER just because he's pretty ambivalent about it doesn't mean he would let anyone kiss him so like. If someone tried to sleeze on him they would probably be injured =|a But if someone he liked hit on him he would idk. ignore it. GETTING IN SUGATA'S PANTS WOULD TAKE ACTUALLY PURSUING HIM which is why Star Driver has Wako to be like "I WANT TWO BOYFRIENDS" because as much as Sugata tops he isn't really sexually motivated.

Date: 2011-02-18 02:20 am (UTC)If he'd woken up in a normal team, he would've turned out to be more of a rebel and FIGHT THE SYSTEM kind of thing, if he were switched he'd be the same and be generally okay but feel a little cheated, he likes not belonging to any teams because he wouldn't be okay having to prioritize the same team ALWAYS, he's cool with prioritizing whichever team he's playing with, but being in a normal team would feel very limiting to him.

Date: 2011-02-18 02:37 am (UTC)OKAY Star Driver is a SHOUJO SCHOOL ROMANSU thing only it's also a little shounen and the romansu issss mostly about the development of a girl-with-two-boyfriends threesome! It is WAY MORE MILD than most anime, in the sense that while Sugata and Wako (the girl) have legitimate reasons to be upset, their upset is based around the fact that they are stuck living on a tiny island their whole lives. Wako can't leave because she is a miko anchored to giant robots called cybodies, which can only be used by people born with certain 'marks'. As a miko, her very existence keeps these cybodies locked down so they can't enter reality and be used as WMDs. Meanwhile, Sugata can't leave because he bear the mark of the Emperor cybody, which is so powerful anyone who tries to use it goes into a coma. And if he DOES surpass the coma clause, he gains a magic power that is basically a very small nuke so HE is never allowed to leave the island so he doesn't make HIMSELF into a WMD and if he tries his servants will murder him 8D;
However, there are a lot of robot battles, and the plot is basically Takuto (the redhead on Peridot) fighting many repetitive battles against the Glittering Crux, a kindasortavillainous group who wants to break the Maiden's seals so they can use the cybodies in reality in order to gain power and wealth! The ultimate thing s that Takuto is the GALACTIC PRETTY BOY and will fight the glittering crux, destroy ALL OF THE CYBODIES, and then Wako will be free to leave the island because there won't be anything to protect.
Anyway, no one dies, no one is srsly injured. So it's a much nicer thaaaan most anime. But it's very pretty, has a colorful cast of characters, particularly a lot of great females. It is kind of a harem anime in that Everyone Loves Takuto, but the main plot relationship is actually very much a threeway! Rather than "I have to choose between two boys".
WAS THAT HELPFUL? I CAN ANSWER MORE QUESTION. normally if I am asked to explain Star Driver I just go 'utena with gundams' 8|;;
